If you’re looking to liven up the cold, dark evenings during lockdown, check out Meetup.com, which has a lot of interesting and varied online events running.
Here are a selection of free and paid events being held during this working week which we think are worth checking out:
Monday
Monday Night Philosophy – 7 to 9pm
Run by the London Online Philosophy Group, the meeting’s divided into rooms, each with its own question (you can submit these up to midday on the day). The discussion lasts 30 to 40 minutes, then everyone votes for the next set of questions. At 9pm, the meeting switches to ‘pub mode’, for socialising and getting to know fellow attendees.
Tuesday
How to motivate yourself to thrive during tough times – 7.30 to 9.30pm
Run by the Positive People Club, Max Leone leads the event, which claims that you can learn motivation, and that there’s no such thing as a lack of motivation. Even when you’re sitting on the sofa for hours, you’re still “doing” something; Max says that in this event, he’ll teach attendees how to take conscious control of motivation.
Wednesday
Ageil20 Reflect Festival – 4 to 5.30pm
If you’re interested in some professional development from the approach of agile working and how it can benefit both employees and customers, then this event is the one for you. Dean Leffingwell is a programmer turned entrepreneur, and during this event he’ll share some of his professional experiences practicing agile working.
Thursday
The Microsoft Power BI Group is hosting this webinar, led by Leonardo Karpinski. Leonardo is a viral dashboard design expert and the creator of Power BI Experience (powerbiexperience.com). Over 400 attendees have already registered to attend!
Take a midday break and grab a cuppa to join the Digital Leadership Group for an Agile Lean Coffee about wellbeing for yourself and your team. The meetings are agendaless but facilitated, and cover a different topic each month.
Do check these out and let us know which ones were your favourites!
